Election Day 2024 has finally arrived and everyone is getting excited about voting, including some of your favorite brands. In honor of Election Day, retailers from rideshares to milkshake makers are offering freebies to folks as a thank you for voting.
We rounded up the best election day freebies we’ve seen thus far that you should absolutely take advantage of before and after you vote.
Best Election Day 2024 Freebies
Lyft: Save 50% on a ride
Don’t have a ride to the polls? No problem. Lyft has got your back. The company is offering riders a 50% off discount on a ride to the voting booth. Just enter the promo code “VOTE24” on or before November 5.
This code is valid from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m., no matter which time zone you live in. It can only be used once and is valid on car rides, bike rides or Lyft scooters.
Uber: Save 50% on your ride
Like Lyft, Uber is giving its users a 50% discount to help them get to their local voting station. Unlike Lyft though, you don’t input a promo code. Instead, when you open the app, you should get a notification (on Election Day) prompting you to book your ride to the polls. From there, you’ll receive the discount.
The Election Day discount is valid for one ride, is available from 12 a.m. to 11:59 p.m. on November 5, and unfortunately, isn’t available in all states.
Uber Eats: Save 25% on your order
While you await the results, treat yourself to a meal or snacks with Uber Eats. The app is offering a 25% discount on orders that total at least $25.
This discount is valid starting at 6 p.m. on November 5 to 7 a.m. on November 6. And unlike Uber, this promo is available in limited quantities, so it may sell out if you wait too long to order.
Krispy Kreme: Treat yourself to a free donut
Krispy Kreme’s classic and most popular donut, the Original Glazed Donut, will be available to voters for free on Election Day. One donut is allowed per guest, and you can get an extra “I Voted” sticker with your freebie if you want. This is all part of the brand’s belief in maintaining a “doughmocracy.”
And while you’re there, consider spending the money you saved on the brand’s seasonal Pumpkin Spice Cake Doughnut, which won’t be available after November 28.
Johnny Rockets: Score a free shake
Take the edge off of Election Day by savoring a delectable shake from Johnny Rockets. You can score a free shake by saying “free shake” at the cash register AND purchasing another item from the menu.
You can only take advantage of this freebie in-store; trying to order it online or through a third-party delivery service won’t work. This offer is available at participating stores and may have additional restrictions, so make sure to ask a server ahead of time.
Ikea: Free Frozen Yogurt
If you find yourself near an Ikea on November 5, make the detour to take advantage of this Election Day freebie. Ikea Swedish Bistros are offering a free frozen yogurt when you present this coupon physically or digitally. There is no purchase necessary and the limit is one free frozen yogurt per person.
Hertz: Get one day of your rental car for free
This Hertz offer is great for people who would prefer to drive themselves to the polls. The rental car company is giving customers a free day off their rental, so long as the car is booked for a minimum of two days.
You must use the “211636” promo code at time of booking before the end of the day on November 5. The discount only applies to the base rental rate and cannot be used to rent convertibles, minivans or large SUVs.
Lime: Get two free rides
Lime is giving people two free rides on their scooters and bikes to go vote. The rides must take no more than 30 minutes each way to qualify, and unlike some other offers, can be used before November 5.
The brand admits that they aren’t going to be verifying if you are going to use the rides to vote, so use this promo to get wherever you need on November 5. Just know that the offer expires at midnight.
