Is Fabletics Worth It? My Experience with the Clothes and VIP Membership

Fabletics has some pretty tempting prices, especially when you first sign up for VIP. But once you start looking at the regular retail prices, the monthly membership credits, and all the different promotions, figuring out how much you’re actually saving takes a little more effort.

I’ve been trying several Fabletics pieces lately, and I’ve been pleasantly surprised by the quality. The introductory VIP offers also made my first order much less expensive than expected.

My take? Fabletics is worth it for someone who regularly buys workout clothes. I like the pieces I’ve tried enough that I’d buy them again at the regular VIP prices, and the membership gives you several ways to save beyond the first-order promotion. You just need to understand how it works.

Is Fabletics Good Quality?

I’ve had these clothes for several weeks now, and so far, I’m impressed. The fabrics feel substantial, the stitching looks good, and everything has held its shape through workouts and regular washing.

I’m particularly happy with the leggings. I’ve worn them for everything from working out at home to running and errands, and I’ve found myself reaching for them regularly.

No matter what I’ve weighed, my thighs have always rubbed together. That’s an area where I pay attention to fabric wear, especially when I’m running, and I haven’t noticed pilling or seams starting to separate so far.

How the Leggings Perform

The On-the-Go PowerHold High-Waisted Leggings are probably my favorite of the two pairs I ordered. They have firm compression, which I like when I’m doing something active and want my leggings to stay where I put them.

The waistband is wide and supportive without digging in, and I haven’t had to keep pulling them up during workouts. They’re also squat-proof, even in the lighter Soft Pink/Mushroom Mauve color I chose.

One thing I’d mention is sizing. I was between sizes and went with the larger one, which turned out to be the right call. PowerHold has quite a bit of compression, so I wouldn’t automatically size down if you’re unsure.

They also have pockets, which I appreciate more than I probably should. My iPhone 17 Pro Max fits, although it’s a little snug. I’d love a little bit more room there, but at least I have somewhere to put it.

The Seamless Scrunch High-Waisted Leggings are a completely different style. They have a softer feel and a scrunch seam in the back that gives your butt a rounder, more lifted look. It’s not a style everyone loves, but if you want to feel especially good about your butt, these are a fun pair to try.

I wore them through a one-hour workout class, and the waistband stayed put. They don’t have pockets, though, which is one reason I tend to reach for my PowerHold leggings more often.

I’ll wear the same pair of jeans for a week, but sweaty workout clothes go straight into the wash after every wear. After several weeks, the fabric, stitching, and seams on everything are still holding up well. It’s too soon to judge how they’ll look a year from now, but I’m happy with them so far.

What About the Sports Bras and Tops?

I ordered two sports bras with different levels of support, and I’m glad I did. The Principal Longline Medium Impact Sports Bra has a longer band that gives me a little more coverage, and I find it comfortable for workouts where I don’t need quite as much support. It also has removable cups, which I appreciate.

The No-Bounce High Impact Sports Bra is the more supportive of the two. I don’t have a whole lot to keep from bouncing around, but I can still feel the difference between them. I can’t speak to how either would perform for someone with a much larger chest, though.

I really like the Anywhere Cropped Built-In Bra Tank, especially the length. I’m not particularly short- or long-waisted, and it hits right at the top of my high-waisted leggings when I’m standing. I don’t love having my stomach showing, so finding a cropped tank that gives me that coverage is a win. And I love a built-in bra. One less piece of clothing to deal with when I’m getting dressed for a workout? Yes, please.

One thing I didn’t really think about when I placed my order was how well all five pieces would work together. Fortunately for me, the colors coordinate, so I can mix and match the leggings, sports bras, and tank depending on what I’m doing that day. It’s almost like a little workout capsule wardrobe.

I can wear the PowerHold leggings and No-Bounce bra for a run, switch to the Seamless Scrunch leggings for yoga, or throw on the cropped tank when I’m heading out to run errands. I like that I didn’t need to buy a bunch of separate outfits to have a few different options. Five pieces gave me plenty to work with.

How Much Does Fabletics Really Cost?

Fabletics has three pricing levels shoppers should understand: regular retail pricing, introductory offers for new VIP members, and then ongoing VIP member pricing. The difference between them can be pretty substantial.

For my first order, I chose five pieces: two pairs of leggings, two sports bras, and a cropped tank. I was able to combine introductory VIP promotions that brought the total down considerably.

Here’s how my order broke down:

My First Fabletics order Amount
Regular retail total $414.75
Combined promotional discounts −$341.29
Merchandise subtotal $73.46
Sales tax $4.41
Total Paid $77.87

That works out to about 82% off the regular retail total before tax, or roughly $14.69 per piece before tax. I was pretty happy with that receipt.

Of course, those were introductory promotions, and I wouldn’t expect to get the same discount every time I shop. It’s also easy to get carried away when prices are that low. Saving money on something you never end up wearing isn’t much of a bargain.

What About Regular VIP Prices?

The introductory discounts are great, but the regular VIP prices matter more if you plan to keep shopping at Fabletics. Here’s what two of the pieces I ordered cost without the new-member promotions.

Fabletics Product Retail Price VIP Price Savings
On-the-Go PowerHold Leggings $94.95–$104.95 $69.95–$74.95 $25–$30
Principal Longline Medium Impact Sports Bra $64.95 $44.95 $20

Saving $20 to $30 on pieces I’d happily buy again is a pretty good deal to me, especially now that I’ve had a chance to wear them and know I like them.

Fabletics also runs additional promotions for existing VIP members. I recently received an email advertising 60% off a large selection of items for VIP members, not just people signing up for the first time. Those sales won’t always be available, but they’re another reason I’d check the current offers before ordering.

How Does the Fabletics VIP Membership Work?

The VIP membership is where Fabletics gets a little confusing if you haven’t used it before. The biggest perk for me is the member pricing. Fabletics advertises everyday VIP savings of 20% to 50% off retail on eligible items, and I’ve already seen additional sales offered to existing members. You can also earn Loyalty Points toward rewards as you shop.

There’s a $69.95 monthly membership fee, which includes a VIP Credit you can use toward eligible clothing. But you don’t have to pay that fee every month if you’re not planning to shop. Between the 1st and 5th of each month, you can choose to receive your credit or skip the month. If you don’t skip, you’re charged $69.95 on the 6th, and a VIP Credit is added to your account.

You can use a VIP Credit on an eligible item priced up to $100, or you can put it toward qualifying outfits and bundles. Some bundles require more than one credit, depending on the offer. You can skip as many months as you want and still have access to VIP pricing and member sales. You also don’t automatically receive a box of clothes every month. You choose what you want to buy and when. Unused VIP Credits expire after 12 months, so I’d keep an eye on your running balance.

Can You Cancel Fabletics VIP?

Fabletics says you can cancel your VIP membership online, by phone, or through chat without a cancellation fee. Before canceling, I’d check whether I had any unused credits and make sure the cancellation went through. I’d also check the next billing date so I knew whether another charge was coming.

How I’d Get the Most Value from Fabletics VIP

Based on my experience, I’d take advantage of the introductory offers first, then use the ongoing VIP discounts, credits, and member promotions when I’m ready to shop again.

Some introductory offers can reach 80% off, so I’d use that first order to try a few different styles. I’m glad I ordered both PowerHold and Seamless Scrunch because now I know which I’d choose for different workouts.

After that, I’d keep an eye on the VIP sales and see what outfits and bundles I could get with my credits. I’d happily buy more colors of the pieces I’ve already tried at their regular VIP prices, too.

When Is a VIP Credit a Good Deal?

I think the credits are especially handy when you’re buying more than one piece. Fabletics has outfits and bundles that can save you up to 70% off retail, and some of those deals are only available when you use credits.

Say you’re shopping for a matching pair of leggings and a sports bra. Before buying them separately, I’d see if Fabletics had an outfit with both pieces. You could end up getting the whole set for a lot less than the regular retail prices.

You can also use a credit on an eligible individual item with a VIP price up to $100, so you don’t have to buy a whole outfit to use one.

For me, it comes down to what I’m actually getting. If I can pick up a matching outfit or another pair of leggings I already know I love, and get a good discount in the process, I’m happy with that.

What Are the Downsides of Fabletics?

One downside of the VIP membership is having to keep track of the monthly deadline if you don’t want a credit that month. You can skip as many months as you like and still get VIP pricing, which I appreciate. I’d just set a calendar reminder so I don’t forget.

As for the clothes, sizing can be a little tricky. The PowerHold leggings have quite a bit of compression, and I’m glad I went with the larger size. If you like leggings that feel really soft and barely there, these might not be your favorite.

As a mom, I firmly believe every piece of women’s clothing should have pockets. Where else am I supposed to put all the random things everyone hands me? My Seamless Scrunch leggings don’t have any, but I can see the upside. Sometimes during yoga, the last thing I want is my phone within reach. The sports bras also have different levels of support, so I’d check the details on each style, especially when shopping a big sale.

So, Is Fabletics Worth It?

For someone who buys workout clothes regularly, I think Fabletics can be a really good value, especially with the VIP membership.

I’ve been happy with the quality, fit, and variety of the pieces I’ve tried. But what really matters to me is that I’d buy them again, even without the introductory discounts. Between the regular VIP prices and the additional sales available to members, there are plenty of opportunities to save.

I don’t think everyone needs a VIP membership, though. If you rarely shop for activewear or don’t want to keep track of the monthly credit, it might not be for you.

But if you’re even somewhat regularly adding new workout clothes to your closet, I think the membership is a smart move. I’ve found several pieces I genuinely like, and knowing I can get them at a lower price as a VIP is a pretty good reason to keep shopping there. The first-order discount got me to try Fabletics. The clothes themselves are why I’d shop there again.
