From home improvement essentials to comfy new furniture and the trendiest decor, Black Friday home deals offer an awesome opportunity to really make your house a home — especially as you gear up to impress incoming holiday guests.
The only downside? There are so many retailers out there catering to home decor, furniture, major appliances — and all of the other items we so meticulously (and stylishly!) fill our homes with — that it can be difficult to pinpoint your focus when the Black Friday shopping holiday rolls around. That’s why we’re taking a look back at the deals our favorite home goods and furniture brands dropped last Black Friday so we can better predict all of the sure-to-be epic Black Friday home deals this year.

Black Friday Home Deals 2024 Predictions
We expect to see very similar deals from our favorite home stores and furniture brands this Black Friday and Cyber Monday. However, there is one big thing to keep in mind: Thanksgiving falls very late this year (Nov. 28), which doesn’t give retailers as much lead time for their Black Friday sales. For this reason, we expect many retailers to offer “early Black Friday” and “pre-Black Friday” sales to drum up excitement earlier in November. It’s hard to say whether these early deals will be as competitive as the ones later in the season, so it’s key to keep track of what these brands offered for Black Friday in the past.
Best Retailers Black Friday Home Sales
While you can find great markdowns on home goods at the likes of T.J. Maxx, Marshalls and, of course, HomeGoods all year long, they don’t typically offer more significant sales around Black Friday. So we dug deep and rounded up last year’s top Black Friday home deals from the retailers who do drop their prices in honor of the big day. We’ve listed them in alphabetical order for easy browsing, so scroll down to find out how much you can expect to save at your favorite store.
Big Lots Black Friday Sale
Last year, the Big Lots Black Friday sale featured up to 50% off furniture and offered $100 off select sofas and loveseats. Now, many locations are closing amidst the company declaring bankruptcy this year, so in-store savings may already be massive if your nearby store is afflicted. Plus, it has already kicked off its “Black Friday is Every Friday” event, with new deals launching online each Friday through Dec. 6, 2024.
Crate & Barrel and CB2 Black Friday Sale
Crate & Barrel dropped prices on select items up to 30% last Black Friday, and it seems poised to do so the same this year as it has already launched a “first look” sale. Meanwhile, CB2 slashed some items by as much as 60% last year (though you can find savings up to 50% off right now), and it often teases a Black Friday sneak peek the week before Thanksgiving.
The Home Depot Black Friday Sale
The Black Friday Home Depot sale saw savings up to 45% off select categories last year, including special buys on indoor and outdoor holiday decor, power tools and major home appliances. The sale was on through all of November, so we expect The Home Depot to kick off the Black Friday home improvement deals early this year as well.
IKEA Black Friday Sale
Last year, the IKEA Black Friday sale saw savings up to 50% off select home decor and furniture. Then, on Cyber Monday, shoppers were treated to $15 to $20 off online orders of $150+ or $25 to $35 off online orders of $250+ (with the larger savings going exclusively to IKEA Family members). We expect to see similar savings opportunities from IKEA this year.
Kohl’s Black Friday Sale
You can often find great home deals up to 85% off at Kohl’s, but Black Friday is a prime opportunity to earn lots of Kohl’s Cash for your purchases. Last year, shoppers could earn $15 for every $50 spent on select “super deals,” which can really stack up when you’re purchasing home goods, small kitchen appliances, cookware and holiday home decor.
Lowe’s Black Friday Sale
Lowe’s began dropping early Black Friday deals each week leading up to the big event last year. There were one-day-only, in-store deals on Black Friday proper, and tons of online and in-store savings on major home appliances, BOGO power tool deals, up to 50% off bathroom reno essentials, holiday decor deals and more. Lowe’s also offered even bigger markdowns on hundreds of items on Cyber Monday.
Macy’s Black Friday Sale
It’s easy to forget in a sea of other options, but Macy’s has extensive home goods and furniture departments which often see significant markdowns, especially around Black Friday and Cyber Monday. Last year, there were deals up to 60% off cookware, bedding and holiday decor, and shoppers could save thousands on select furniture, like sofas and sectionals.
Pottery Barn Black Friday Sale
Last year’s Black Friday sale at Pottery Barn featured up to 50% off thousands of items, including furniture, decor, glassware and serveware, bedding, lighting and tons more. PB tends to launch its Black Friday savings relatively early, and we expect to see similar savings this year.
Target Black Friday Sale
You may not immediately think of Target when considering the best Black Friday home deals, but the furniture savings were actually some of the best deals Target offered last year. The online-only furniture sale featured savings up to 30% off some of the most stylish and right-on-trend finds on Black Friday, including Target-exclusive collections like Hearth & Hand with Magnolia. The savings were bumped up to 50% off on Cyber Monday, and we expect to see a similar sale this year.
Wayfair Black Friday Sale
Wayfair tends to offer epic markdowns all year long, but last year’s Black Friday deals upped the ante just a bit. There were savings up to 80% off select items — including as much as 65% off living room seating and tables, TV stands and bedroom furniture — plus flash deals and doorbusters to save shoppers even more money. It’s pretty safe to say we’ll see much of the same for this year’s Black Friday Wayfair sale.
West Elm Black Friday Sale
West Elm‘s Black Friday sale featured savings up to 70% off select items across every category, from furniture to bedding and bath to decor and lighting. There was also a free shipping offer to help save shoppers just a little bit more. This year’s sale should be similar, especially since you can already find up to 60% off clearance.
Williams Sonoma Black Friday Sale
If you’re looking for premium housewares and kitchenware on a budget, keep a close eye on Williams Sonoma this Black Friday. Last year, there were savings up to 40% off select items — which is really significant when it comes to these high-end brands — and we can expect similar markdowns this year, too.
Best Black Friday Mattress Deals
While you can find great Black Friday mattress deals at many department stores like Walmart, The Home Depot and Macy’s…
- Nectar had one of the best Black Friday mattress deals last year, offering 40% off memory foam and hybrid mattresses. The sale also lasted a long time, from pre-Black Friday in early November all the way through mid-December.
- Also of note: Purple gave Black Friday shoppers $900 off a mattress and base set
- DreamCloud gave new customers 40% off any mattress
- Tempur-Pedic offered 30% off its Tempur-Cloud mattress
- If you’re looking for freebies, Leesa dropped as much as $870 off its mattresses and gave away two free pillows and microfiber sheets with purchase
- Helix offered 25% off a new mattress plus free pillows, sheets and a mattress protector
- If you’re not sure about a particular brand, the Mattress Firm Black Friday sale saw savings up to $700 off mattresses from top brands, including Serta, Sealy and Beautyrest last Black Friday, and gave away a free adjustable base ($499 value) with qualifying purchases, too
Based on the plethora of mattress sales we saw last year, odds are really high you’re going to find your mattress brand of choice offering at least 20% off this Black Friday.
Best Black Friday Christmas Tree Deals
If you love the thrill of waiting until the very last minute to decorate for Christmas (or you totally forgot that you chucked your old artificial tree at the end of last season), you’re actually in luck!
- Last year, Balsam Hill offered up to 50% off some of its top trees, including the 7.5-Foot Pre-Lit Classic Blue Spruce for $449 (orig. $899)
- King of Christmas featured deals up to $1,000 off, including the 7.5-Foot Pre-Lit Rushmore Fir Tree for $599 (orig. $899)
- Lowe’s sold the best-selling 6.5-Foot Pre-Lit Brighton Spruce Artificial Christmas Tree for just $198.40 (orig. $248)
- Michaels slashed prices on artificial trees up to 70% off (plus an extra 30% off with coupon code)
- Costco marked down its fan-favorite 7.5-Foot Pre-Lit Radiant Micro LED Artificial Christmas Tree to $379 (orig. $499.99)
- Target, Walmart and Wayfair also had Black Friday Christmas tree sales ranging from 40% to 60% off
So if you can hold off on decorating until early December, Black Friday looks like it will once again be a great time to save on a brand new artificial tree.
Best Black Friday Furniture Deals
Aside from the home improvement retailers, department stores and home goods brands you’d expect to shop above, there are tons of boutique and specialty retailers that host Black Friday furniture deals as well. Last year, we saw some great deals, including:
- Up to 90% off at Homary
- As much as 60% to 70% off at Joss & Main, Serena & Lily and the trending, pet-friendly sofa designer Anabei
- Up to 40% to 50% off at World Market, Arhaus, Joybird, Albany Park and Anthropologie
- As much as 20% to 30% off at Branch, Burke Decor, Article, Lulu and Georgia and Floyd
- Both Castlery and Burrow had “spend more, save more” events, with savings up to $600 and $1,000, respectively
- Raymour & Flanigan slashed up to $1,000 off select items
You can also check wholesalers like Costco, BJ’s and Sam’s Club for select Black Friday furniture deals as well. Just make sure you have a club card to access their members-only savings!
