What Is Travel Tuesday?
Travel Tuesday, or also referred to as Travel Deal Tuesday, is a shopping holiday created by the airfare prediction and booking app, Hopper, in 2018 . The platform identified the Tuesday after Thanksgiving as the day with the most airfare sales, with savings on Travel Deal Tuesdays averaging around 20% off on domestic and international round-trip flights.
What’s behind the new trend? Travel Tuesday took shape over the last few years, when hotels, airlines and travel sites began extending their Cyber Monday sales for multiple days. Brands started offering deals on hotel stays, airfare, vacation packages and more, capitalizing on the idea that weary shoppers are ready for a vacation after a stressful holiday season.
When is Travel Tuesday?
Travel Tuesday is the day after Cyber Monday and the first Tuesday after Thanksgiving. This year, Travel Tuesday falls on Dec. 3.
