Dior Lip Oil (official name: Dior Addict Lip Glow Oil) launched in 2020 and became a TikTok beauty sensation not long after, as more and more people discovered its unique and truly impressive powers.

Whether you’re ready to get your hands on the actual, original Dior Lip Oil or you’re looking for more affordable lip oil dupes, because Dior’s price tag is admittedly high, read on.

What is so Special About Dior Lip Oil?

There’s a laundry list of reasons people love their Dior Addict Lip Glow Oil.

A huge selling point is that it offers the hydration of a lip balm combined with the glossy, shiny finish of a gloss, thanks to the formula which contains hyaluronic acid and cherry oil. Though it gives you a ton of shine, it doesn’t leave your lips sticky or tacky. Dior’s lip oil comes in 11 pretty shades with a color reviver technology. They react to your skin and impart a subtle hint of color. And that customized shade lingers, even as the glossy finish wears down. There’s a nice, subtle vanilla mint scent to the gloss, and a super-soft, chunky, doe-foot applicator for an effortless swipe and go. Oh, yes, and without causing burning or stinging, Dior Lip Oils gives your lips a little extra plumping boost.

Wear it on its own, or with a lip pencil, or under or over other lip colors — it’s that versatile!

Is There a Dupe for the Dior Lip Oil?

There’s a lot to love about this product. One thing people don’t love is that it is $40 a pop, making it a true splurge item. Fortunately, there are some wonderful lip oils on the market that cost less and still offer many of those same benefits. The best Dior Lip Oil Dupes include:

NYX Fat Oil Lip Drip

Image: Amazon

Why we love it: NYX Fat Oil pulled no punches in coming for Dior’s crown, with many of the same benefits of the Dior Lip Oil, at a quarter of the price. No surprise that it’s now a best-seller in the drugstore lip oil category.

Looking for a big, chunky applicator, tons of shine, hydrations (here, courtesy of cloudberry oil, raspberry oil and vegan squalane), and a nice, 14-color shade range? Vegan and cruelty-free NYX to the rescue. If you want a dupe of the most popular Dior Lip Oil shade, 001 Pink, try NYX’s “Missed Call,” which is quite similar. Overall, these colors are a bit more saturated than Dior’s, but still subtler than the typical lipstick.

Milani Cosmetics Fruit Fetish Lip Oils

Image: Amazon

Why we love it: Milani’s vitamin E-based Fruit Fetish Lip Oil is another popular, affordable Dior lip oil dupe. Yes to that lovely shine, lingering lip tint, large, soft applicator, and a fruity, sweet scent. Some users say this feels a little stickier than Dior’s lip oil, though.

e.l.f. Glow Reviver Lip Oil

Image: Amazon

Why we love it: e.l.f. Glow Reviver Lip Oil offers tons of hydration, a delightfully cushiony applicator, and a vegan and cruelty-free formulation. Ingredients include vegan squalane and oils of apricot, avocado, and jojoba seed. All in all, a top-notch, budget-friendly Dior lip oil dupe. Some users find the minty smell is a little chemical-y to them, though, and the color may not last as long as some of the other lip oils listed here.

Fenty Skin Fenty Treatz Hydrating + Strengthening Lip Oil

Image: Sephora

Why we love it:  From the beloved beauty brand founded by Rihanna, Fenty Treatz Hydrating + Strengthening Lip Oil is a highly-conditioning oil made with lovely ingredients like jojoba seed, rosehip, and sweet cherry seed oils. Each of these four shades has a unique, fruity and sweet fragrance. This is a really hydrating lip oil, so if you’re prone to dryer lips, you may want to start with this one. It’s vegan, cruelty-free, and gluten-free. The only downside is it is currently only available in four shades, but hopefully we’ll see more!

Milk Makeup KUSH Sheer Hydrating Lip Oil

Why we love it: Milk Makeup KUSH Sheer Hydrating Lip Oil feels sooooo good on your lips, thanks to the soothing hemp seed oil, sunflower oil, coconut oil, and Japanese Camellia. This lip oil dupe comes in six super subtle shades, each with its own unique yummy scent. The colors here are very subdued, though, so look elsewhere if you want a deeper, more pigmented finish.

iNNBEAUTY Glaze Lip Oil

Why we love it: iNNBEAUTY has such fun products, and their Glaze Lip Oil is no exception. It’s got bold, bright packaging and it comes in nine cool colors, including the brand’s “Mystery” shade, which changes to a pink based on your unique pH levels. It’s vegan and cruelty-free, and contains a mix of excellent ingredients like jojoba seed oil, pomegranate extract, and glycerin.

Clarins Lip Comfort Oil

Why we love it: Clarins Lip Comfort Oil is no new kid on the block. In fact, Clarins originally launched their lip oil back in 2015 “PD” (aka pre-Dior). Coming up on a 10 year anniversary, it’s been winning awards and fans ever since.

It was originally called Instant Light Lip Comfort Oil, and available in just two shades, and has been improved and updated since then. This lip oil is very conditioning on your lips, with a luscious blend of sweetbriar rose oil, jojoba oil, and hazelnut oil. This is an all-ariound  soothing, hydrating, calming product. There are currently 10 shades available, five of which are pH-reactive for a customized color just for you. Clarins lip oil offers a really intense moisture, and swipes on with a super-soft, cushioned applicator. Price-wise it’s on the splurge side, but it’s still less than the Dior for a premium beauty buy.

ETUDE Dear Darling Oil Tint

Image: Amazon

Why we love it: K-Beauty brand Etude’s popular Dear Darling Oil Tint comes in six pretty shades that leave a tint behind even after the shine disappears. It feels great on your lips, too, and is offered at a wallet-friendly price. Head’s up: If you want that Dior pink dupe, try either the Etude Red Oil or Pink Oil shades, both of which have that sweet, natural pink vibe going on and offer tons of glossy impact.

The applicator isn’t as soft as some of the other lip oils on this list, so if you[‘re looking for a cloudlike experience applying your oil, this may not be the right pick for you.

Bloomeffects Tulipscreen Hydrating Lip Oil 100% Mineral SPF 40+

Image: Bloomeffects

Why we love it: This brand-new lip oil from Bloomeffects contains SPF 40+, so consider it a three-in-one product, with the nourishment your lips require from vegan squalane, meadfoam, tulip complex, and bisabolol; a pretty color (currently available in three shades), and protection from the sun with physical — aka hmineral — sunscreen.

Unlike many of the lip oils on the market, this one is fragrance-free, so it may be gentler on your lips than ones with added fragrance. Be aware the lovely color is deep, a step deeper than the typical lip oil. In this case, you’re not saving money, in comparison to the Dior Lip Oil, but you are getting the benefits of SPF and the formula might be better suited for your needs.
