Smart Cart: Don’t Miss Buying Trader Joe’s Brazil Nut Body Oil (My Favorite Dupe for Sol De Janeiro)

Summer will be here before you know it, and if your skin just survived a cold, dry winter, it could probably use a little TLC to get ready for swimsuits and sundresses. As someone who has tried a lot of moisturizers over the years, I’ve fallen in love with the scent and moisturizing properties of Sol de Janeiro products. However, I’m not as fond of the price. The good news is I found delightful dupes in the form of Brazil Nut Body Oil and Body Butter from Trader Joe’s.

For less than $10, you can pick up a bottle of the brand’s limited-edition Brazil Nut Body Oil and transport your skin and senses to paradise. Here’s what you need to know before adding this product to your Smart Cart.

What Is Brazil Nut Body Oil From Trader Joe’s?

If you’ve shopped at Trader Joe’s for a while, you might have seen its viral Brazil Nut Body Butter appear on the shelves during the warmer months. A few holiday seasons also brought us gift sets with a smaller version of this body butter as well as a similarly scented body oil.

I absolutely fell in love with this scent and became a huge fan of the lightweight Brazil Nut Body Oil. As a result, you can imagine my joy when full-sized bottles appeared on the shelves of my local Trader Joe’s.

Wondering why I love this body oil so much? Here are two huge reasons why:

  • Sweet Scent: Trader Joe’s Brazil Nut Body Oil combines the delicious scents of Salted Caramel and Pistachio. The result is a lovely dupe for Sol de Janeiro’s Cheirosa 62 Scent.
  • Super-Hydrating: The base of the body oil contains jojoba, macadamia, olive and sunflower oils. However, it doesn’t stop there. It also adds hydration heavyweights that include squalane and guarana extract.

The full-sized bottle contains four fluid ounces of the magically moisturizing body oil. This is twice as much as the gift-set version of the product.

What Is the Deal and Why Does It Belong in Your Smart Cart?

Arguably, the best thing about Trader Joe’s Brazil Nut Body Oil is its affordable price. Each full-sized bottle (four fluid ounces) is just $6.99. As for the more expensive option from Sol de Janeiro, it costs $52 for 3.4 fluid ounces for a similar scent and moisturizing guarana!

While the Trader Joe’s website currently lists the Brazil Nut Body Oil as “unavailable,” I have still been able to find it on shelves at my local store. That means it’s worth checking your nearest Trader Joe’s for this affordable Sol de Janeiro dupe (and filling up your Smart Cart if you find it).
