If you’re a Starbucks egg bites fan, here’s a breakfast recipe just for you!

Turns out those light and fluffy cheesy pillows of goodness are actually super easy and FUN to make at home using the Instant Pot (or air fryer). You can make a bunch and reheat them later on for a delicious grab-and-go breakfast all week long. The best part is that you can customize the ingredients to your heart’s desire with unlimited cheese, veggie, and meat combos.

You will love this money-saving idea!

A two-pack of egg bites at Starbucks is $5 at my location. Save money by making them on hand and can use the ingredients you prefer. I personally love their tasty bacon gruyere cheese flavor, so today I’ll be sharing how to make a similar homemade version. They come out creamy, and cheesy, plus are easy to make!

My mother-in-law makes these each week, and she was nice enough to share her method with me. I know some people prefer to go with cottage cheese, but she prefers cream cheese, and so far I am loving these!

The secret to creating these is the egg bites mold!

This mold from Amazon.com fits conveniently right inside the Instant Pot or air fryer and creates seven perfectly shaped egg bites at a time. All you have to do is set the STEAM function to 10 minutes and let your Instant Pot do the work.

While this silicone mold can help replicate the wildly popular Starbucks sous vide egg bites, you can make so many more delicious creations in it! Make muffin or brownie bites, meatloaf bites, hot cocoa bombs, cheesecake bites, and more!

Directions

1

Prep the egg bites mold with nonstick spray.

Add the bacon and gruyere cheese to the bottom of each mold.

To a blender add the eggs, milk, cream cheese, and salt. Blend until smooth.

4

Pour a cup of water into the Instant Pot. Pour the egg mixture into the egg bites mold. Place the egg bite mold inside on top of the trivet. Note: It's not necessary to use the lid on the mold. Close the lid and set the mode to STEAM for 10 minutes.

More tips on how to make copycat Starbucks egg bites:

  • What about using the air fryer to make egg bites? I tested this method too! I used this same recipe using the silicone mold and used the air fryer to cook them instead at 340 degrees for 11 minutes. Use a toothpick inserted to see if they are fully cooked. The outside texture on the bottom gets more crispy browned, but they taste very similar to the Instant Pot!
  • Feel free to change up the cheeses if the cream cheese isn’t desired. Cottage cheese can be substituted, or even goat cheese. Also, shredded Cheddar cheese is delicious instead of Gruyere. I think crumbled sausage would be yummy too!
  • Cooked egg bites can be stored for up to 3-5 days in the fridge and for up to two months in the freezer. To warm them up, try 90 seconds in the microwave.

We love this Instant Pot Egg Bites Recipe!

I love how easy this is to make for a delicious breakfast and they taste great. In fact, my husband had never had egg bites from Starbucks until today. He says the homemade ones are fluffier and even more delicious than the Starbucks version when tasting each side by side.

It’s a great meal prep idea to make a bunch and then store them for breakfast later on. They really do reheat well.
