Halloween hasn’t ghosted us just yet! The spookiest time of the year is on the horizon and RetailMeNot has dug up some sweet facts.

Halloween kickstarts the shopping season, so to kick off the festivities, we surveyed 1,202 U.S. adults on their favorite Halloween candies and shopping categories, and the results are freaky fun!

What Americans are Buying for Halloween

According to our survey, 75% of Americans are likely to celebrate Halloween this year, spending an average of $334 on purchases for the holiday. But what exactly are they looking to purchase? This year, the top three Halloween spending categories include candies and treats, costumes and decorations.

Not surprisingly, our survey found that Halloween is still all about chocolate!

The popular treat remains the favored option for Americans during this upcoming Halloween, but it’s a tight race to determine the one candy winner. Snickers has solidified its status as the ultimate Halloween favorite followed by Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups and KitKats, captivating the taste buds of countless Halloween enthusiasts.
