1:1 Transfer Between Alaska Airlines and Hawaiian Airlines

Just a few days after Alaska Airlines completed the $1.9 billion acquisition of Hawaiian Airlines, members of both programs can already transfer miles.

Just as promised, you can now transfer miles between the two programs at a ratio of 1:1, and the transfers are free.

If you are looking to transfer miles between Mileage Plan and HawaiianMiles, you need to go to through Points.com. You can transfer as few as 50 miles, and up to your total available account balance. There is a limit of 500,000 miles per transaction.

In order to complete a transfer in either direction, the information in both accounts must match.

Transfers are instant in most cases, but the terms note that it may take up to 72 hours for the transfer to be reflected in your account and for the miles to be available to use.

Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan has one of the most valuable travel currencies, and this new transfer option opens up the opportunity of converting American Express Membership Rewards to Alaska miles.

Some people did so speculatively during a transfer bonus to Hawaiian Airlines, but even now it is still a good deal at a 1:1 transfer ratio. Yesterday there was an issue with transfers from Amex to Hawaiian, but that seems to have been resolved earlier today.
