Meh's August Mehrathon has begun and you can save up to 90% off 60 deals of the day, today only, including school supplies for grown-ups. Also, there's a $29.99 IRK (instant regret kit) on SideDeal with refund parameters to get it down to a penny. A IRK is basically a mystery box and can be something really amazing or garbage from the warehouse...or a mix. People have fun sending them to friends or getting a surprise. Here's those instructions for how to reduce the cost of it via refund parameters:
Today's Lesson: Economics
Specifically, how to spend $29.99 on a box of assorted disappointment and then slowly earn extra credit until you've almost paid nothing for it.
The Assignment:
- This IRK costs $29.99.
- For each unique item you buy in the Mehrathon, you'll earn $5 back on this IRK, up to 6 items counted.
- First 5 items = $5 each, last one = $4.98 refund.
- Get all 6? That's $29.98 refunded — meaning your IRK costs $0.01.
Definitions (for the students in the back):
- "Unique" item = one from a different offer.
- Multiple sizes, colors, or packs of the same product? Still just one.
- Think of it like homework: you can turn in the same essay in three different fonts, but it's still the same assignment.
Example Problems:
- Buy IRK + 4 different items = $20 refund → IRK costs $9.99
- Buy IRK + 6 different items = $29.98 refund → IRK costs $0.01
- Buy IRK + nothing else = $29.99 IRK → detention
