Crystal’s Winter Storm Stock-up Aldi Shopping Trip

1 hour ago 1

With the winter storm coming in, I went to Aldi on Thursday to pick up a few essentials we needed — and was especially hoping to find eggs. Jesse had gone to Publix Thursday morning and said there were zero eggs in the entire store!

We go through a lot of eggs — especially if we are all at home! – and we were down to five eggs. So I was really hoping to find some more eggs before the storm came in. (We can easily go through 15-20 eggs in a day if we make scrambled eggs for all of us and do a little baking!)

I walked into Aldi and was met with an empty shelf, so I was a little worried the store was going to be pretty cleared out. However, the more I looked, the more I saw lots of food!

Pineapple was $1.95 each!

3-lb bags of Pink Lady apples were $3.19 per bag!

3-lb bags of Fuji apples were $2.99.

And then I went to search for eggs — and the had SOO many!!

I was so grateful because I really wanted to stock up but I didn’t want to clear any shelves!

I also checked on the cottage cheese price. It was actually a tiny bit cheaper than the price at Sam’s Club.

Here’s everything I bought:

  • Bananas – $1.35
  • Marshmallows – $0.95
  • Bread – $1.95
  • Eggs x 5 – $1.96 per dozen
  • Popz x 4 – $1.19 each
  • Garbanzo beans x 3 – $0.75 each
  • Orange Juice – $3.79
  • Chocolate Milk x 3 – $2.21 each
  • Cottage cheese x 3 – $2.85 each
  • Pudding cups x 2 – $0.99 each
  • Oyster crackers – $1.29
  • Pink Lady apples – $3.19
  • Granola bars – $2.85
  • Chips x 2 – $1.95 each
  • Brownie mix – $1.45
  • Salt – $0.76
  • Salsa – $2.49
  • Pineapple – $1.95
  • Fuji apples – $2.99
  • Raisins – $3.99
  • Total with tax: $71.81

Speaking of shelves being cleared, I went to Kroger across the street right after I went to Aldi and I could not believe how bare it was compared to Aldi. See a video here I did that shows how Southerners prep for a snowstorm.
