CLEAR Gets More Expensive

CLEAR is getting more expensive. On Aug. 1 the company announced that prices are goin up by $10 for the primary member and $20 for family members.

A CLEAR Plus membership allows members to use biometric data to verify their identity and lets them skip security lines at airports and stadiums. Clear is available at more than 55 airports and several stadiums and arenas around the country.

The price for CLEAR Plus is now $199, up from $189). If you add family members to your plan, you will have to pay a fee of $119 per person, up from $99.

This is second time that CLEAR has hiked prices, with the previous price increase happening just over two years ago. Back then the price went from $179 to $189.

CLEAR has a partnership with American Express and you can get the membership for free if you have the Amex Platinum, Amex Business Platinum, Amex Hilton Aspire or Amex Green cards. These cards will refund you the annual fee, and they seem to already have updated the benefit to $199.

The best way to get CLEAR is by using one of these credit cards, while there’s a signup bonus. We have seen offers such as a $75 Uber credit or $100 travel credit in the past.
