Amazon’s annual Big Spring Sale is back again from March 25th through March 31st. Like most sales, there’s a mix of so-so discounts alongside some genuinely good deals. After looking through pages of “markdowns” (many of which aren’t much of a discount at all), I found a handful of kitchen items that are actually worth considering – but only if you were already planning to buy something similar. I’m sharing five kitchen deals that caught my eye for people who might be in the market for these types of products.
1. Instant Pot Vortex 6-Quart Air Fryer – $90 (was $140)
At $50 off, this 6-quart air fryer is a practical addition to any kitchen. The Instant Pot brand has proven reliability, and this size is perfect for a family of 4-5.
My take: We bought an air fryer two years ago and it’s cut our cooking time in half on busy weeknights. Our electric bill went down compared to using our full-size oven, and we’ve found ourselves cooking at home more often instead of ordering takeout when we’re tired.
2. Carote 11-Piece Pots and Pans Set – $50 (was $120)
At over 50% off, this complete cookware set gives you everything you need to outfit a kitchen from scratch.
My take: When we were paying off our debt, we learned that quality cookware makes home cooking easier and more enjoyable. This set costs less than what many families spend on restaurant meals in a single week. If you’re using worn-out pans with flaking non-stick surfaces, this upgrade will pay for itself quickly.
3. Lodge 10.25-Inch Cast Iron Pre-Seasoned Skillet – $17 (was $34)
This American-made cast iron skillet is half price and will likely outlive your grandchildren if cared for properly.
My take: I inherited my grandmother’s cast iron skillet, and it still works perfectly 60+ years later. At $17, this is an investment that costs pennies per use over its lifetime. We use ours for everything from cornbread to pan-seared chicken, and the natural non-stick surface means we don’t have to replace it every few years like cheaper pans.
4. Vitamix Propel 750 Blender – $400 (was $630)
Yes, $400 is still a lot of money for a blender, but with $230 off, this is a rare opportunity to get professional-grade equipment.
My take: After burning through three $50 blenders in four years, we finally invested in a Vitamix seven years ago, and it still works like new. We make everything from smoothies to soup to homemade nut butters, saving hundreds each year on store-bought versions. For families who use a blender several times weekly, the math works out in your favor.
5. Rubbermaid 2-Piece Produce Saver Set – $16 (was $25)
These specialized containers extend the life of fresh produce, reducing food waste and saving money.
My take: The average American family throws away about $1,500 in food each year. We started using produce savers like these and immediately noticed our strawberries and lettuce lasting 4-5 days longer. At $16, these containers can pay for themselves in just one or two grocery trips by preventing wilted vegetables from ending up in the trash.
My Bottom Line
The best deals aren’t always the biggest discounts – they’re items that help you build habits that save money over time. Each of these kitchen tools can help your family eat at home more often, waste less food, and avoid the continuous cycle of replacing cheap products.
Just remember – if you’re putting these items on a credit card you can’t pay off this month, wait until you’ve saved up the cash. No kitchen gadget is worth going deeper into debt!
