Thanksgiving is almost here, and many people are already starting the whirlwind preparation of their annual feast. But if you’re traveling, not feeling like cooking up a big feast or have something go wrong with your home preparations, you might want to keep this list handy.

Turkey disasters can send anyone into a panic—remember Clark Griswold’s turkey jerky in “Christmas Vacation” or the Bumpus hounds stealing Ralphie’s family turkey in “A Christmas Story”? We sure do. This Thanksgiving, whether you need some emergency mashed potatoes or your family just wants to celebrate without all the cooking and cleanup, visit one of these restaurants open on Thanksgiving Day.

Although they’re all national chains, you should still call your local establishment to check their hours, availability and pricing just to be safe.

Restaurants That Are Open on Thanksgiving Day

Applebee’s Neighborhood Grill

Select Applebee’s restaurants will host a Thanksgiving Day meal this year. In years past, it has featured turkey breast, mashed potatoes, gravy and garlicky green beans (in addition to Applebee’s regular menu items). Check your local restaurant’s hours to be sure!

You can dine at their restaurant on Thanksgiving Day from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. or choose delivery or pickup meals. Their Thanksgiving Hot Meal serves up to ten people. It includes slow-roasted turkey or hickory-smoked ham plus traditional sides like stuffing, mashed potatoes and pumpkin pie. Place your Farmhouse Feast order by November 26.

You can also get a taste of their other Thanksgiving food any day with their celebration platters throughout the season.

Boston Market

Enjoy a traditional plated Thanksgiving meal at Boston Market. Thanksgiving food specials are rotisserie chicken, roasted turkey or ham and plenty of side dishes and desserts to choose from. Catering, dine-in – with modified hours on Thanksgiving Day (check your local location) or individual meals for carry-out will be available.

Bravo! Italian Kitchen

Open on Thanksgiving Day, Bravo! Italian Kitchen is serving up a Traditional Thanksgiving Meal in adult and kids sizes. The normal menu will also be available if you can’t resist your favorite Italian dish. It’s encouraged that you make a reservation to dine in on Thanksgiving Day. Pick-up is also available if you prefer to eat at home.

BRIO Tuscan Grille

Brio is open on Thanksgiving Day and serving up a three-course Traditional Thanksgiving meal complete with salad, turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing, vegetables, cranberry sauce and pumpkin pie. If that doesn’t strike your fancy, opt for your Italian favorites. Kids under 12 have a Thanksgiving meal option, too. Reserve your table for lunch or dinner today. Pre-order a Thanksgiving Feast To Go for pick up that serves four to five.

Buca di Beppo

Buca di Beppo will be open on Thanksgiving Day. Guests can dine in, purchase catering trays, order a meal to go or even have the meal delivered (check locally for availability).

Buc-ee’s

The southern convenience store chain might as well be a restaurant, given all the food it serves (Barbecue! Jerky! Kolaches! Grab-and-go snacks!). It’s open on Thanksgiving, for all those on the road making their annual trek to see family.

Burger K ing

It depends on the franchise! Use the Burger King’s website to search locations near you.

The Capital Grille

Their Thanksgiving menu includes slow-roasted turkey with brioche stuffing, French green beans and cranberry-pear chutney with Sam’s mashed potatoes or pecan-crusted mashed sweet potatoes with hot honey to share. You can also order sides to go along with your own turkey at home. These will serve four people, and the ordering window is from October 31 to November 26.

Chart House

You can visit Chart House for great Thanksgiving food! Whether you dine in on Thanksgiving Day or bring Chart House home to your dinner table, they have everything you need to make it a meal to remember. You can enjoy a three-course prix fixe menu of your Chart House favorites or a classic Thanksgiving dinner. You can also pre-order a Roasted Turkey or Prime Rib dinner for pick-up or delivery.

Cracker Barrel

Cracker Barrel is open regular business hours this Thanksgiving Day and offering a traditional feast of turkey, dressing and pumpkin pie. While delivery will not be available on Thanksgiving Day, Thanksgiving meals-to-go and a Heat n’ Serve Family dinner and feast are available for pre-order with pick up between November 21 and 25.

Del Frisco’s Grille

Del Frisco’s Grille will be open on Thanksgiving Day and is offering a Thanksgiving prix fixe meal. The restaurant’s regular dinner menu will also be available on Thanksgiving Day. Book your reservation ahead of time!

Denny’s

Open for dine-in and pickup on Turkey Day if you need a quick bite or coffee. You can also pre-order a Thanksgiving bundle for four to have at home.

Dunkin’

Grab a dozen to share as you prepare for the big meal. Dunkin’ will be open on Thanksgiving Day, but customers should check with their local store or the app to check times.

Eddie V’s

Eddie V’s is serving an exquisite turkey dinner with French green beans, brioche sage stuffing, gravy, cranberry chutney and mashed potatoes with bread and pie. The regular menu will also be available. Hours on Thanksgiving Day will be 11 A.M. to 8 P.M. Make sure to make your reservation beforehand!

Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar

Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar will open at 11 a.m. on Thanksgiving Day, and it will be serving up meals from the full menu and a special three-course special ($62). The menu includes a choice of Herb-Roasted Turkey, Filet Mignon or Prime Bone-In Ribeye accompanied by a starter, traditional holiday trimmings and a dessert. Children can enjoy their own special three-course menu for $31! Make your reservations now.

Fogo de Chão

This internationally renowned steakhouse is delivering joy this Thanksgiving with delicious offerings available at restaurants nationwide. Guests will discover new and traditional holiday staples on Thanksgiving Day at select locations. Book early—before October 31 and get a complimentary dining card.

Golden Corral

In addition to guest favorites like steak, meatloaf and pot roast, Golden Corral will also offer a special Thanksgiving buffet. This feast includes a roasted turkey and a holiday glazed ham. An array of traditional sides and desserts is also available. Golden Corral restaurants are open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. (some later).

Hooters

The majority of Hooters locations stay open for most holidays, including Thanksgiving. But check with your local restaurant as some hours may vary.

IHOP

Most IHOP restaurants are open on Thanksgiving Day. Enjoy a sweet breakfast all day or several of your regular menu favorites.

Kona Grill

Kona Grill has not yet released its Thanksgiving hours or menu, but last year, it opened and served a traditional Thanksgiving feast. Stay tuned for details this year.

Krispy Kreme

Krispy Kreme locations will be open on Thanksgiving Day.

Luby’s

For $13.99, dine on Luby’s Thanksgiving special, which includes an entrée, cornbread dressing, two sides, a dinner roll and dessert. Yummy!

Macaroni Grill

In the past, Macaroni Grill has been open and has offered a Thanksgiving special. Details are not available yet about their plans this year, but stay tuned.

Maggiano’s Little Italy

This Italian restaurant will be open! Guests can dine in on chef-curated dishes served in large family-style portions. Make your reservation early to save your spot.

McCormick & Schmick’s

Wine and dine at McCormick & Schmick’s this Thanksgiving. The restaurant is offering Thanksgiving food specials such as a traditional Thanksgiving meal. Reservations are highly recommended. Adults eat for $39, and kids for $15. The regular menu will also be available.

You may also pre-order a Thanksgiving Feast to-go that serves four for $120. You can order through Monday, November 25, for pick up on Thanksgiving Day.

McDonald’s

The Golden Arches join the list of restaurants open on Thanksgiving, cranking out burgers and fries as normal. Swing by for a pre-turkey snack. Check your local store for exact hours. Some franchises may be closed.

Metro Diner

Table service will be available for dine-in until 2:30 p.m. at Metro Diner on Thanksgiving day. Guests can choose from several seasonal options. A Heat and Serve Holiday Feast To-Go is also available for pre-order, but order soon. There is limited availability.

Morton’s Steakhouse

Morton’s Steakhouse will be open for Thanksgiving this year. Expect something good from this holiday meal!

Papa John’s

While not a traditional Thanksgiving food, if you have a craving for a different kind of pie, check out Papa John’s on Thanksgiving day.

Popeye’s

This just in: Popeye’s famous signature Cajun-Style Turkey is available for order. Delivery is available this year; just thaw, heat and serve. Select Popeye’s locations will be open on Thanksgiving Day. Call your local restaurant for details.

Red Lobster

Will be open and Shell-abrating with you this Thanksgiving. Call your nearest location to check times.

Ruby Tuesday

Select Ruby Tuesday restaurants will be open with modified hours on Thanksgiving Day. Be sure to call ahead and confirm hours before planning your holiday.

Ruth’s Chris Steak House

Ruth’s Chris Steak House says the best meals are the ones you don’t worry about. Take the stress out of Thanksgiving dinner and enjoy their In-Restaurant Thanksgiving Day Menu, which includes a starter (choice of Caesar salad, steak house salad or Louisiana Seafood Gumbo), entrée (sliced oven-roasted turkey, homemade gravy, cornbread-herd stuffing and cranberry relish), side (choice of garlic mashed potatoes, green beans with roasted garlic, creamed spinach or sweet potato casserole) and dessert (pumpkin cheesecake and vanilla ice cream). Each purchase also includes leftovers to take home. The cost is $48 per adult and $17 per child. You can also pre-order a meal (plus all the sides) to-go. Order by November 22 at 6 p.m.

Starbucks

Many locations will be open, but expect some to close early. Some Starbucks located in business districts or inside office buildings may be closed. Starbucks locations that are inside Target stores will also be closed, as Target is closed on Thanksgiving.

STK Steakhouse

STK Steakhouse will be open on Thanksgiving Day and like years past featuring Thanksgiving specials.

Sullivan’s Steakhouse

This Thanksgiving, all locations nationwide will be open from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. with special holiday offerings. Guests can savor and enjoy a traditional Thanksgiving dinner , including a starter, roasted turkey, sweet onion apple sausage stuffing, gravy, cranberry relish, two traditional sides and a dessert. Adults eat for $51, and children for $25.

Can I Order Grocery Delivery on Thanksgiving?

Yes, if the restaurant is open and offers delivery, you can order via your delivery app of choice. Apps will automatically filter by what’s available in your area.
